What’s one of the greatest things about being a Utah Wedding Videographer?
GETTING TO TELL YOUR LOVE STORY!
Each one is so unique and special in its own way. My husband and I met on a half-blind date. How does that happen? Well, that is a story for another time. Right now, this post is about the most unique love story I have filmed in the past 5 years.
Jessica and Vinay were worlds and cultures apart. She is from Utah, he is from India. Utah is LDS culture and India as you can probably guess is not. Vinay had to navigate how to choose his own wife in a place where arranged marriages is commonplace. Arranged marriages don’t happen in Utah, at least not what the dominant culture participates in. They met while she was an law school intern in India. She had a dream one night that she needed to go to India. In their video, she says she was not looking for a husband but her father had given her a blessing that she would learn lessons that would help her as a wife and mother.
Her first Sunday in India she was trying to find the meeting place for church and she had found the address but it was for a hospital. Thankfully she found some missionaries and they took her to church. Vinay saw her but was too nervous to talk to her. He later saw that she had made it to church. Jessica asked the senior couple if they had institute classes. They introduced her to the teacher, which was Vinay. She never made it to his Institute class before he was released. The more she got to know Vinay the more she thought to herself that she needed to go back to Utah and find someone just like him.
That was just the beginning. Watch their Love Story video to see their full story.
